Let's face it: As cute as is it is to see a one-year-old dressed up for Halloween in a giant pumpkin suit that only their face and feet hang out of, it just isn't practical. So many of the costumes available at stores are adorable on the hanger but just don't work for little ones.

You can't fit them in their carseat or stroller, it is a pain to put the costume on and off, they likely aren't comfortable and their mobility is limited. If there's one thing I've learned as a mom, its that if your baby is uncomfortable, they'll definitely let you know (cue the tears).

This is where Great Pretenders comes in. Over the years, we've designed a collection of baby and toddler costumes that are (seriously) as comfortable for your little ones as they are cute.

We have a baby shark...

An adorable fluffy owl...

A cuddly, crushed velvet dragon...

The cutest, softest lion cub you ever did see...

And so many more! All of these baby and toddler capes are made with your little one's comfort in mind. We use the softest materials that will be gentle against their skin. The wrap around neck closure is Velcro, which makes it easy to put on and take off. And the cape design is perfect to wear over outdoor gear, so you don't have to worry about a cold Halloween night!

You can shop our collection of baby and toddler capes here, and our full collection of accessible capes (including our Superhero Capes and Princess Cloaks!) here.

Throwing a socially distant birthday party is actually simpler than you might think. For a memorable event, you should think outside the box and tailor the party to fit the birthday person’s interests. While in the middle of a global pandemic, it can be easy to cancel the party, but instead, you should make the effort to celebrate each birthday. It doesn’t have to be a large event or decorated perfectly, but it’s important to celebrate each birthday.
